Horse chestnut belongs to the plant family Hippocastanaceae. The extract is obtained from the leaves of the horse chestnut and contains triterpenoid saponins (especially aescin), coumarins and flavonoids. It has excellent capillary protection, decongestant, anti-inflammatory and sebum-regulating properties. The extract is often used to treat "orange peel" effects or tired and swollen legs.
