Beeswax is a metabolic product of the honey bee. The white, purified wax is in pelet form and is almost odourless. With its skin-caring properties, it is mainly used in creams, lipsticks and eyeliner pencils. It provides a delicate, enveloping protective film that is particularly desirable for dry, chapped and irritated skin. Beeswax serves as a consistency agent for creams, lipsticks and body lotions. If the concentration of beeswax used is too high, it can cause an unpleasant feeling of tension on the skin.
Increased concentrations of hydrocarbons and thus foreign paraffin are currently being detected in natural beeswax. This is probably due to the extraction and production of the raw material. Beeswax is now a scarce, valuable raw material that is sourced all over the world. The beeswax we offer is produced and controlled in particular in accordance with all specifications for use under the European Cosmetics Regulation (EC 1223/2009).
